Indie duo Boyish’s newest single repairs itself from “Smithereens” [Video]

Brooklyn-based artists India Shore and Claire Altendahl have done it again. Under the name Boyish, the two have a way of crafting lustrous alt-pop & rock productions, though there's nothing boyish about their lyrics, which are raw and mature. Today, the duo presents their newest single, “Smithereens.”

Imagine the Cocteau Twins with more of a rock edge – that’s how to describe this track. “Smithereens” fuses dreampop and indie-rock with moody bass and echoing electric guitar. On top of that, there’s Shore's shadowy, angelic vocals that lament over feeling taken for granted in a relationship. Altogether, this track is definitely something you’ll want to listen when you’re alone, either headbanging and playing air guitar in your room or maybe blasting it on your night drive home.

The music video carries a humorous, yet somber tone. The camera follows the duo the day after a house party, when the fun tones down and the feeling that you’re invisible begin to rise again.
