German-Ghanaian artist Aisha Vibes is flying high on her solo mission as an artist. Her new single, "RUDEBWOY," is a reintroduction to her as an indie artist after she kicked off her very own all-female run Vibes Records imprint. The TACKA77 produced record blends the worlds of R&B and hip-hop with its pounding 808 heavy drums, slick chords, alluring pads, and Vibes pouring out all her frustrations on wax. The track dives into the conflicted emotions that develop within a toxic relationship, questioning why good girls love to get with the bad boys even though they know it will always end up in premium tears. The track is not her first foray into music and Vibes sure holds her own with her melodic raps and commanding and distinct vocal style.
The visual concept was concocted by Aisha Vibes and director Terry Ellmer who team up to deliver an energetic piece that captures the singer's energetic style and confident demeanor. Fusing several performance shots in different backgrounds and varied lighting to display different emotions, viewers get to see what makes Vibes tick and unique.
Aisha Vibes' foray into music is quite interesting and humbling. Discovered whilst working a frozen yogurt spot in her hometown, her infectious personality and way with customers got her the opportunity to audition for a local radio station, thus she entered the world of radio. From working as a host on Sunshine Live and Planet Radio, she dropped a spontaneous freestyle over a Biggie Smalls instrumental that catapulted her status. Eventually, she had to step down to focus on music and is now preparing to drop her eponymous debut EP. On another note, she currently hosts Germany’s first Apple Music Playlist show ‘New Music Daily Deutschland once a week.
