NYC-based singer-songwriter Ashley Suppa drops sleek single “King”—a minimalistic production of shimmering guitar and echoing drum beats elevated by Suppa’s bold vocals and poetic lyricism. Written about the distractions caused by technology and the urge to lean into a social media persona to hide from your real-life struggles rather than solve them, the track is a relatable and thoughtful look at today’s internet culture that establishes an intelligence beyond her years.

Describing the message behind the single as “a connection at the cost of a disconnect,” the 18-year-old paints a lyrical picture that as vivid as it is cryptic. Glistening vocals and a strong sound developed since the age of six has seen Suppa bloom effortlessly to fill our ears and hearts with her expansive and sophisticated musicality.

With a lifelong passion for music strengthened by professional training, this rising star channels her penchant for experimentation into empowering anthems, cast with her honest interpretation of complex feelings and perspectives that strike a chord with people of all ages.

Taken from her upcoming debut EP, “King,” with its foreboding message of personal disconnect is no exception as it roots us in place first with the pull of its polished arrangement and then the poignant songwriting.

Showcasing wisdom beyond her years, Suppa who is only her second release after her debut single “Trouble,” is already proving to be an act worth watching, as she quickly makes an ascent into stardom.
