In the wake of his recent EP Neptune, R&B innovators Gallant and Brandy have unveiled the official video for their collaborative single “Dynamite”, streaming now in its entirety on YouTube.
Set against the backdrop of an erupting volcano primed to destroy the city below, the official video for "Dynamite” explores themes of love and loss, with the impending disaster representing the fallout triggered by the ending of a relationship. The climactic official video for “Dynamite” perfectly captures the sombre, impassioned vibe of the track itself.
Widening the scope of R&B with relatable confessions and thought-provoking cinematic concepts, Gallant initially burst onto the scene in 2016 with debut album Ology. He has since graced the world with the acclaimed 2019 album Sweet Insomnia, entranced audiences at Coachella and the accolades go on. In March 2021, he unveiled his long-awaited new EP, Neptune – his introductory record as a newly independent artist. This genre-transcending project features singer-songwriter Arin Ray, songstress duo Van Jess, and the R&B tastemaker Brandy.
More to come in 2021 are compelling visuals, ambient production, and lavish melodies with a twist of 90s/early 00s inspiration. Gallant returns to the music scene with a refreshed take on creation and seeks to tap into the authenticity of his own self-reflection and how he experiences the world around him.
