Straight out of the borough of LaSalle in Montreal comes an emerging emcee who goes by the moniker Chung. Her latest effort titled "So Explicit" is an exposition of her lyrical prowess on wax and she brings a distinct edge that hardcore rap fans would appreciate. Bolstered by the cinematic production courtesy of her longtime producer Cotola, Chung flows seamlessly with a laidback, unassuming flow while she reminds the opposition that she is nothing to play with. She strays from going overheads with complexities but rather she slows it down with choice words that punctuate her warning shots. It's similar to how Westside Gunn raps over drum-less beats but with a little bit of feminine flair.
The visual is directed by Cotola who goes for a cinematic aesthetic that focuses on Chung's alter ego. From the sensual performance shots and the thrilling storyboard that sees Chung taking back what she is owed, the visual captures the raw essence of the emerging rapper. "So Explicit" is taken from her forthcoming Chung Shui EP which is produced entirely by Cotola.
Raised in a musical household with a Jamaican background, Chung got her name from the Street Fighter character and her love for martial arts. She has a number of singles under her belt and currently working on her EP. She was also a member of Low Key Ent.
