UK soul and pop singer JONES shares the video for her new release "Around" in collaboration with her co-writer and guitarist Nardeydey. The track strays from her previous pop sound a bit and employs modern jazz and prominent neo-soul elements.
Over smooth guitar plucks, warm textures, and soft drum grooves, JONES delivers a refreshing performance ripe with layered melodies that exemplify feel-good summer vibes. JONES' angelic vocals exude an airy atmospheric feel and with Nardeydey's backing vocals, the result is a dreamy, sultry affair that lingers on even after you stopped playing. The premise is about being around that special individual who gives you butterflies in your tummy and makes you feel giggly on the inside. For the record, her longtime collaborator Oli Barton-Wood is the man behind the boards on this tune.
The accompanying visual is directed by Lorenzo Sorbini, and captures JONES unassuming performance style in detail. Her sublime nature really shines on the screen, at least for the moment she appears. Storywise, the video focuses on two women preparing to rendezvous with their new love interest. It captures their pre-date activities and how they overcome the anxiety that comes with this forthcoming meet-up.
