NY-based Singer Perri Jones serves up a new single "Brand New" as she prepares to drop her forthcoming debut LP. The Houston native first popped up on our radar some months back with her single "Issues," and now she continues the string of releases that focus on self-love and empowerment. Teaming up with producer FastLife Beats (Coi Leray, YBN Nahmir) who gifts her with a reflective, guitar-driven canvas for her to share her story.
"Brand New" is a heartwarming tale of the outcome of a relationship when the people involved are not on the same wavelength due to a myriad of issues. It could be a matter of plain disconnect, trust issues but once that initial spark is gone, things could just go awry. Jones delivers an unapologetic display of her true emotions and lets her partner know that she will not settle for less and she is out the front door for her own inner peace. From the layered airy harmonies, uplifting melodic runs that engulf the sparse drums grooves to the moody textures, the track sure delivers the goods and then some.
"Brand New" is the first of two singles Jones will be releasing with "Don P" being slated for a July 16th release date. Presently she has two EPs U.G.L.Y (2019) and Details (2020) under her belt and is currently working on her debut LP.
