The next alt-pop prodigy comes to us from the tropical island of Aruba. TEENAGEFEVERDREAMS, the creative alias of Angelo Werleman, has been making confidently assured indie gems since discovering the power of Spotify back in 2017. Self-taught in songwriting and producing, the newest offering from the 18-year-old is appropriately warm and somewhat nostalgic.
"Tuesdays" is guitar-driven and anthemic, a perfect song to blare with your windows down in the heat of late Summer. Co-produced with Eddie Evergreen, the song is reminiscent of those late nights with friends when it feels like time stands still and Summer will never end. Hopeful and exhilarating describes much of TEENAGEFEVERDREAM's catalog thus far, with standouts like "Ask Me" and "Internet Love" highlighting his already incredible range of emotive tracks. After not having much exposure to alternative music outside of the local top 40 radio station, discovering the likes Jean Dawson and Jimi Somewhere through Spotify in late 2017 was a watershed moment for Angelo, allowing him to learn songs by ear and put a distinct flair on his own music which he was inspired to begin writing.
After releasing his debut EP Loose Ends late last year, there has already been so much palpable growth within his music. With an abundance of raw talent and inspiration coursing through him, it's a good time to start taking notice of the young prodigy as he gears up to take his music to the next level.
