The multi-faceted UK artist Aina More is back with a brand new single and music video that showcases her genre-fusing and expressive style. The aptly titled track "Magic" is an anthem of some sort as More embodies her Nigerian roots coupled with her British upbringing marrying the two in a seamless fashion. The track produced by Ace Keyz, is a punchy hip-hop track, but somewhat melancholic with the vulnerable lyricism and echoing piano melody. More's reflective and revealing lyrics explore her past doubts, growth, and present mindstate where she is confident of who she is as an artist and individual.
"Magic" as a song is More's unique look at her journey thus far and the visual captures the undertone of the music to a T. For this to happen, she teams up with her go-to collaborator Oye 2.0 who goes for a theatrical theme that taps into More's powerful and unapologetic performance. I like the moody aesthetic and how long shots of More are intertwined with quick cut-scenes of extras. Her costume is particularly eye-catching and I would like to believe is a display of her reality and her comeuppance in a world that tries to suppress her innate greatness.
