CUBE takes us through “Chestnut street”

Emerging Canadian singer and producer CUBE just turned 16 years old a few days ago and to celebrate he dropped a new single "chestnut street." The promising young artist started playing the piano at the age of 5 and slowly perfected his craft as the years progressed. In 2020, he put out his self-produced instrumental EP kinda quiet while later on in the year forayed into adding vocals into his music. After dropping 2 singles in late 2020 and early 2021, CUBE found his niche and on his new release "Chestnut Street" he delivers an excellent display of singing proficiency matched by his sublime piano-driven production.

The record has a nostalgic and heartwarming vibe which ties into the reflective theme of the song. CUBE wrote it to celebrate his 2-year-old relationship with his girlfriend and takes us to the very first time they met while working on a play together. I need to point out that CUBE's vocal performance and tone are remarkable and I would have thought he was way older than he is. From the seasoned way he layers his melodies and the laidback approach, you can tell he listened to a whole lot of R&B/soul because this boy got it. While he did produce the track itself, the songwriting aspect was done in collaboration with his friends Danny Polo and Alex Slay Nashville-based duo via the discord app.

With 3 singles “IDWL,” “CRASHING”, and "Chestnut Street" under his notch, CUBE is back in the studio and we may probably hear more music or even a full-length album from this uber-talented kid.
