Emerging Vancouver-based singer Bukola shares her debut release "A Good Thing" and its accompanying visuals as she prepares to release her first official project later this year.
The song is a smooth blend of R&B/pop and reggae and it's produced by Grammy Award-winning producer, Chin Injeti. Bukola is in her element here and delivers a gripping performance well beyond her age. From her stylish melodic runs, witty and insightful lyrics, she also pokes fun at teenage exuberance when it comes to love and relationship. she further adds via email that the track reminds us we are good things, and if someone can’t see that – it’s on them.
The visual is quite colorful and captures the youthful energy and sights in the city, all courtesy of director Brock Newman. The cut scenes are seamless and the switch into the DIY visual effect adds an organic vibe to it as well. The color coordination and warm aesthetics really catch the eyes too and play a very important role throughout the video.
Bukola won grand prize winner of the Nimbus School of Recording Arts/Juno Host Committee provincial Battle of the Bands competition and has built quite a name around herself. Most recently she was one of the Top 10 Soulful Female Artists in the 2020 CBC Searchlight competition. "A Good Thing" is the first single from her debut EP The Chronicles of A Teenage Mind which is set for release this summer.
