Waterford-based artist Pat Lagoon had his biggest year to date in 2020 with the release of his highly acclaimed Box Room EP. Maintaining his status as one of the most active and consistent artists coming out of Ireland at the moment, "The Goon" is back and is joined by LHK and Wavkill on his brand new single "HABITS."
Pat Lagoon burst onto the Irish hip-hop scene in 2018. Singles such as "Love Bites" and "Shining" led him to join up with bubbling Anomaly Collective. This partnership led to the Rikshaw collaboration EP Recess. Tracks such as "Take Time" & "Let Loose" fully established Lagoon as a mainstay in Irish hip-hop rotation throughout 2019 and 2020. The success of his Box Room EP only furthered his status as one of the artists to watch in 2021.
Now, 2021 is here and "HABITS" is our first look as to what's in store for Pat Lagoon this year. On this record, Pat Lagoon is flexing his melodic side on this bouncy, trap production. His cadences and flows on this record prove why this unmistakable talent is one of the most feared in the scene right now. Lyrically, Lagoon looks inwards as he addresses things like his mental health, his relationships and his place in the bubbling scene. The catchy synth lead and punchy kick drums are direct and in your face. Package all this with a catchy hook and you have an unavoidable record that's sweet on the ears and intoxicating to the soul.
Pat Lagoon is set to reach new heights this year. With many opportunities and projects in the pipeline it is clear that 2021 will be the year of "The Goon". Based on "HABITS" it's going to be a very good year too.
