New York alt pop artists Perry Bancs and Gem Chantelle team up for an infectious new single entitled “Alone Tonight.” The R&B infused track features trip-hop beats under slow-burning seductive vocals. The duo are able to capture a sense of longing, which is insanely relatable in a time when many of us feel completely alone and isolated. “Alone Tonight” is all about filling the void of loneliness with distraction with human connection. Perry Banks confides, “The song is about not feeling okay mentally but still wanting someone physically there anyway, even if it's just for a night.”
“Alone Tonight” marks the first collaboration between the two artists, who wrote and recorded the track with producer Sudeep at Thompson Street Studios in New York. The trio wanted to create a musical escape for fans who were struggling with mental health issues during the pandemic.
Perry Bancs burst onto the scene just this last year and has since already released a prolific catalogue of electro-pop bangers. He thrives in collaboration, not only working with Gem Chantelle but also with dark pop singer Sloane and hip hop artist 27club. Gem Chantelle is also a new artist on the rise. Classically trained, she soon began transitioning into the world of pop music with influences ranging from Rhianna to Blondie.
