Matt Maratea has shared a laid back new visual for his song “MARATHON”.
Matt Maratea is a musician from Western Massachusetts. He first broke onto the music scene when he collaborated with King Los on his song “Al Capone”. Since then, he has frequently melded genres and styles to create blends that keep the listener engaged. This time however, he comes through with a more straightforward hip hop song in “MARATHON”.
“MARATHON” finds Maratea dropping smooth, charismatic rhymes overtop of a bright instrumental. The instrumental, produced by WESTEND, is relaxed and easy-going. It features bouncy 808’s and sparkling synths riding atop heavy drums. Maratea delivers catchy flows over top of the colorful instrumental.
The visual, directed by Colton Chapman, is equally bright and easy going. The video uses warm coloration and vivid saturation to capture the vibe of the song. It depicts Maratea in a relaxed environment, mostly having fun and enjoying the day. It also shows his process recording and exploring some of the scenery around his hometown. The video gives off a casual, calm mood, enhancing the feeling of the audio.
Overall, “MARATHON” is a solid release from Matt Maratea. He comes through with some exuberant verses overtop of a playful instrumental from WESTEND. You can find “MARATHON” featured on Matt Maratea’s new album High Hopes, available now.
