Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Emeline has unveiled the new music video for her latest single “6 Foot Deep.” The eerie visuals, which were filmed at the haunted Westerfeld Mansion (home to both Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin over the years), casts shadows with its dark colors and deep tones. Dressed in a black, silk nightgown, with her vibrant purple hair, Emeline sings about her experiences of being a woman and finding comfort, even in times of uncertainty. Life isn’t always about the happy endings, but the joy you can experience along the way.
“This was my first project solo-directing which was really exciting and something I’ve wanted to do forever," Emeline shares. "I got to work with an all woman and non-binary crew and editing team. It was important for me to create a safe environment to tell this story in and also to have the people behind the lense understand why I was telling this story and be able to capture the delicate balance I was going for between the satirical and vulnerable visuals.”
“6 Foot Deep” features warm piano melodies, minimalistic production and spunky percussion. Through catchy vocal elements which are packed with emotion, the Rhode Island born artist will keep you singing along from start to finish.
You may recognize Emeline for her work with Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation. Together, they created an impressive EP, Where The Moon Hides, which caught the attention of fans across the globe. Having collaborated with multiple different artists and projects, 2021 sees Emeline focusing on her solo music for the first time in a while. “6 Foot Deep” is just a taste of what is yet to come and we’re already hooked.
