Back for their first remix in two years, funk lords Chromeo have returned to put their spin on one track in a series of new Dirty Projectors singles. The original “Lose Your Love” served as the debut from the Dirty Projectors’ Flight Tower EP, the second EP of what will total 5. The band has been steadily releasing tracks from their 5EPs series throughout 2020 and will conclude with the full package releasing November 20th. Along with the new singles, Dirty Projectors has been sharing “Lose Your Love” remixes. Now they can add Chromeo to the bill.

Dirty Projectors · Lose Your Love (Chromeo Remix)

In true Chromeo fashion, the duo struts their best assets. Their remix of “Lose Your Love” comes loaded with funky synths, a super groovy bass line, handclaps, and of course a bit of vocoder. They manage to keep Dirty Projectors’ delicate feminine vocals, but Chromeo definitely took them out for a little disco.  It’s genius how they bump up the vibe in a way that maintains the clean and airy style of the original while doing an obvious remix. Then again, Chromeo’s Dave 1 and P-Thugg have mastered the art at this point and rightfully deserve the title of funk lords.
