"Alone Again" is the debut single from Portland-based artist Frecks. Taking inspiration from romance and melancholy, this latest release is a bedroom pop ballad perfect for a good cry or a dance around the house.
"Alone Again" opens with gentle hand-picked guitar and Frecks’ dreamy vocals that feel inspired by shoegaze legend Hope Sandoval. The track slowly incorporates waves of woozy riffs and atmospheric drums that provide dynamic movement and compelling energy. In keeping with the ballad form, the lyrics are focused on the nuances of love with Frecks explaining that “the song is about the fear of being abandoned and how that can often lead to codependent relationships.”
