Childe takes us on a luscious electro-pop journey in new release "Just Me" [Video Premiere]

British artist Childe delivers a kaleidoscope of moody atmospheric sounds comprised of intricate electro-pop production in the release of his second single "Just Me."

"Just Me" offers a technicolor swell of dark wandering electro sounds wrapped beautifully by pops of warm synths and a gentle whispering voice. Slight undertones of ambient funk and dark techno are blended together as light percussions send listeners soaring into introspective journey once a deep fuzzy bass vibrates right through the soul. The vocal performance never loses it's candor as each lyric and chorus is delivered as an intimate emotional plea. Of the new release, Childe shares, "Just Me’ is about loneliness and feeling isolated in a busy world,” says the artist. “Fake friends and false conversations. I need to make sure I’m around the people who know me best or I can really lose it.”

The animated music video was created by Montreal-based illustrator and animator Alexis Giroux, AKA Oodnuf. “The song made me think about the moon, so I thought it would be cool to tell a story about the moon and the sun confronting each other,” says Giroux. "It's also about transformation which I think reflects the song nicely.”

Though Childe may be new to the main music scene, he's everything but new to music. Having picked up piano and guitar at an early age, he is an alum of the legendary performing arts high school – the BRIT school in London (Adele, FKA Twigs, Amy Winehouse, Rex Orange County, and King Krule). He since has gone on to open for pop stars like King Princess. By crafting intricately produced music backed by evocative and earnest songwriting, Childe is sure to be an artist to watch out for this coming year.

Childe’s debut EP is set for release early next year via Prolifica Inc./PIAS.
