Brooklyn rapper J.I delivers much awaited new EP 'Welcome to GStarr Vol.1'

Rising New York rapper, J.I has released his much-awaited EP Welcome to GStarr Vol.1. The 6-track project boasts only two features from Myke Towers and Lil Durk leaving room for J.I (fka J.I The Prince of NY) to put his skilled lyricism on full display.

You may have heard J.I's skillful delivery on former tracks like "Need Me" and "Hood Scars 2", but Welcome to GStarr Vol. 1 is in a class of its own. Each track showcases the powerful young emcee's ability to deliver head-bobbing lyrics over an eccentric compilation of beats. Intertwining moments of crooning – no autotune and tight verse, the rising rapper's talent is undeniable.

On songs like "Beautiful Girl" and "Love In The Club", J.I. trades gritty, womanizing bars for harmonious cadences that are strictly for the ladies. Teaming up with Lil Durk on "Painless", both artists go bar for bar on loyalty lost in the game as J.I effortlessly floats over each track without missing a beat. On the hip-rolling cut "Spanglish" featuring Myke Towers, he flexes his diverse ear for unique sounds with reggaeton-inspired drums laced with melodic Spanish verses.

Ditching songs filled strictly with street stories, Welcome to GStarr Vol.1 is a brash mix of tracks that touch on love, pain, and loyalty. The pained rapper absolves himself of love lost and broken friendships on the confessional outro "Washing Away My Sins."

Sold out shows and highlights on Spotify's Radar program, J.I. continues to make a name for himself. Welcome to GStarr Vol. 1 is his first project release of the year since his 2019 release Hood Life Krisis Vol.1. With much more in the works, he's on his way to solidifying a spot in the game.
