Quality Goods Records fast established themselves as a resounding voice within the bass music community, having spent the past four years building an expansive catalogue of hard-hitting tracks from an eclectic range of envelope-pushing, international artists. The label has since announced a new series titled 'Quality Vibes' that looks to diversify their sound by pulling focus to more laidback, story-driven tracks. The series kicks off with "Omelet," a collaboration between burgeoning French producers, ELK and Chris Dogzout.
Working with a more paced energy in comparison to a typical Quality Goods release, the introduction to "Omelet" takes its time building a rich atmosphere, filled with haunting vocal samples, moody synth arpeggios and a gentle piano. The soundscape builds towards a crescendo that dissolves into a hazy, bone-rattling beat that's led by a wonky string pluck melody which adds to the tracks already transformative qualities.
Label head and trap music titan UZ explains in a statement, "I love bangers and drops at shows but when at home I’m more into chill vibes and melodies. I have been receiving a lot of cool music and I wanted to give those artists a platform."
With an opening salvo this potent, expect further installments of the series to be of the same high calibre.
