London's G Flame has joined No.19 Music to release his new single, “Broken,” which appears alongside remixes from both DJ Sneak and Mella Dee.
Also working under his The Advent alias, previously alongside Mr G, he has not only played a huge part in the scene as a DJ and producer, but also as a sound engineer. As far as experience goes, there are no areas in which Cisco Ferreira is lacking; it's easy to see this in his work.
“Broken” is a track which was produced in the mid-nineties, at a time in which tech-house was a genre just beginning to find its feet. Preferring to label his style ‘house-techno’ due to the house vibes prevailing against the tempo of techno, it’s a combination which makes for a powerhouse of a track. Straight up groove, persistent percussion and ravey synths give “Broken” a truly old school, timelessly classic sound to it. Throw in choppy vocal snippets and euphoric elements and it’s a shining example of what tech-house should sound like. It's unbelievably good vibes, produced in the most stylish of manners.
The first remix comes in the form of the mighty DJ Sneak’s “Banger Dub,” an instantly hypnotic, weightier take on the original. Losing the euphoric elements and toning down the percussion gives the track a darker tone, but that doesn’t take away from the impact it’ll make on the dancefloor. The EP finishes up with Mella Dee’s “Shape Up Mix.” Stripping things back to create an expert piece of minimalistic but feel-good house music, it rounds off the trio of tracks perfectly. Each mix’s distinctly different sound give three fresh and innovative takes on what can only be described as a track which is a breathe of fresh air to the genre.
