Parisian duo Duñe x Crayon shared their debut album, Hundred Fifty Roses this past Friday. Released via French label, Roche Musique, the full-length album is the first project since their 2016 self-titled EP.

Exploring the dystopian and over-connected world that we live in, the pair compile stylized R&B, electronica, and G-funk to paint a picture. Embodying various sounds of J Dilla, MF Doom, and Kaytranada, Hundred Fifty Roses, takes listeners through a storytelling journey of vice, addiction, and habit. Working to tell a story, Duñe x Crayon take on the protagonist role throughout the 13-track album. Kicking off the project with the lively cut "Save Yourself First", the two ride the funky bass over lyrics dedicated to saving a woman from heartbreak. The standout single "Pointless" is sexy and seductive with support from French rapper, Ichon. Utilizing vocals from a few burgeoning Parisian artists, Duñe x Crayon has strung together a sultry and soulful album. Gracy Hopkins layers "Your Fruit" with delicate vocals while multifaceted producer, FKJ accompanies them on "Vicious Cycle". While Hundred Fifty Roses is sonically robust, the album seeks to break free from unauthenticity.

Hundred Fifty Roses is an honest and vulnerable narrative. After two years of cooking it up in the studio, Duñe x Crayon has created a solid body of work sure to get them off to a great start. Check out the album here.
