Elina Filice is back with a brand new single titled "Thinking of You".

Elina Filice is an artist who grew up in Singapore before moving back to her parents home country of Canada. She is now living in Ireland currently. As the founder of the Red Vine Records independent label, she released her debut project Elina + The Kicks back in 2018. She came back in 2019 with her single "Disappear" and now she's back with this new track "Thinking of You".

Filice kicks some poetic rhymes on this one. It feels more like spoken word on this one. The laid back rhymes are almost conversational in their delivery with little focus on rhythm but still remains on beat. The motifs of wondering, "what if?" in both life and love. There is sense of regret but also acceptance. The track is a true rollercoaster of emotions. Theme's of travel, movement, angst and love all bleed through on this record. The chorus is extremely catchy and really adds another ascent to the arc of the story being told.

The production is a new venture for Filice. Despite remaining within her wheelhouse in regards to the acoustic guitar licks and jazz influence, it's clearly a new notch on her badge in regards to sound. The hip-hop influenced drums are a perfect backdrop for the storytelling and quotable lines to sit on. Pair this with the synth chords that flow in out of the record and you've got a beautiful , well-rounded pop/funk beat.

This is an interesting directional choice by Elina Filice. Her sound is on a continuous evolution and she is well on her way to establishing herself as one of the most uniques artists in Ireland currently.
