Teck-Zilla & Psalmurai are slicing and dicing their way through the annals of Kung Fu-inspired hip hop. The Lagos City-based duo's latest offering is an expertly crafted two-part video, “Soul Calibre/Samurai Dreams.”
The multitalented Psalmuria stars in the video alongside DJ/producer Teck-Zilla, and also directed it. The flick, captured by shooter The Myth, kicks off with “Soul Calibre,” which is dripping with Enter the Wu-Tang steez. Side-A of this two-piece entree features some impressive animated touches, footage from classic Kung Fu cinema, and shots of Teck flexing his Wushu Kwan hand-to-hand techniques.
When the video transitions to “Samurai Dreams,” the energy kicks into high gear. Teck & Psalmurai match the upbeat feel of the track, off their Enter The Double Dragon EP, by exhibiting a natural charisma that recalls the iconic rap videos of the early ‘90s.
