Indie LA singer-songwriter, Joyce Wrice is back to releasing music as an independent artist with her newest single, "That's On You." The mellow R&B song was produced by Austin Brown and released last Friday.
The Austin Brown produced R&B single, "That's On You" is a bass-slapping, flavorful track with jazzy musicality. The production drips with a classy late-night jazz lounge vibe and features an imperfect modulation of the rhodes piano that keeps the verses sounding unique and fresh.
This latest expansion of her own independent work has been a long time overdue. The San Diego-raised artist told EARMILK via email, “It feels so refreshing! I’ve grown a lot these past few years and have new stories to tell on my journey of self-discovery and of course, love…!” Over the past few years, Wrice has been a supporting voice on many other artist tracks. She's hopped on projects of the likes of The the Free Nationals and on Westside Gunn's last album. Her most recent feature was on a track with Pennsylvania veteran rapper, Asher Roth.
