After teasing a few singles from his Renaissance LP, Montreal-based electronic artist Apashe has released the full album, and it's a doozy.
The 13-track project is an absolute behemoth that dips its toes into elements of multiple genres, including trap ("Good News"), dubstep ("Green Crack"), and even house ("Rain"). Apashe, who managed to cleverly infuse his signature cinematic bass sound throughout the album's entirety, has always been a master of genre-blending, but his penchant for hip-hop is at the forefront of Renaissance. Featuring the likes of Wifisfuneral, Yizzy, Wasiu, and iconic rapper Tech N9ne, among others, the LP brilliantly unifies hip-hop and bass music for a refreshingly original and gripping release. Apashe is also set to release an accompanying documentary that will explore the making of Renaissance, which is directed by Adrian Villagomez, who has produced a number of his music videos.
