A testament to his tireless work ethic, Pastel continues his streak of colourful hits with "Let You", after spending 2019 plying his contented audience with almost an albums worth of material by virtue of a staggering seven original releases throughout the year. The French-Polynesian talent, now residing in London, connected with close personal friend Haoting to reign in the new decade with the same vigour, and the synergy is quite remarkable.
A fluid fusion that pulls from the likes of upbeat indie pop, classic singer-songwriter, and grooving Bossanova, Pastel is a rare artist that almost transcends genre completely, having crafted an aesthetic that fluidly dances amongst the sum of his influences. Having recently shared this track as his first single of the year, its light-hearted visual shortly followed. The dreamy musical introduction in "Let You" carries sensations of emerging from a dream, with the visual promptly continuing the theme, then leading to aptly soundtrack scenes of a lazy morning and a sun-drenched romance.
He shared an exclusive insight to the release with us via email, "‘Let You’ is my brand new single, which I made together with my good friend Haoting when I was over for a gig in Taipei for New Year. Now, I’m super happy to present the official music video to go alongside it. It was really great to work with two great actors and an amazing team for this piece and it was actually my first experience co-directing a video and creating everything from scratch! It was quite challenging but really worth it and I’m super happy with how it turned out. Hope you guys like it as much as I do!"
