The East Coast has been making a strong come back in hip-hop after Atlanta took over for a while as one of the most popular hubs for fire rap music. Last year, Pop Smoke, Rico Nasty, and Lil Tecca bodied multiple lanes in the rap scene. Today, we’re introducing you to RETROi$AWESOME who is coming in hard 2020. The New Jersey-native just released his first single of the new year titled “GHO$T” and we’ve already added it to our rotation.
Making references to iconic brands like Off-White and VLone, RETROi$AWESOME has his drip perfected, hence the line “When I pull up in that all white. T-shirt is vlone. The sneakers is off white.” Produced by Faux Seven, the simple yet catchy sound production of “GHO$T” compliments RETROi$AWESOME’s rap flow perfectly, creating a certified hit along the lines of Da Baby’s “Suge” and IDK's "24.” He also makes basketball references in the track while addressing his new-found haters – "Feel like KD before the injury. Thriving off hate."Adding a dynamic element to the song, Henny Blanco also hops on the track switching up the flow while maintaining the track's overall upbeat and fast-paced vibe. This is certainly one of those songs that you have to bump in your car with all of your homies and just go crazy!
