Last time we heard from CHYLD, the Boston-based artist released his playful future pop jam "Cookies N Milk." Today he released "Bedtime," a scintillating future bass and pop hybrid that uses the same bubbly formula to stir up an intoxicating electronic number.
"Bedtime," which was released on renowned New York imprint Tommy Boy Records, tugs at the heartstrings with its poignant lyrics and melancholic soundscapes. CHYLD does a fantastic job with the production here, contrasting languid rhythmic elements with jaunty future bass chords — a juxtaposition not easily accomplished. He also beautifully layers a number of different components in the verses, like breezy vocal chops and acoustic guitar plucks, to make a sublimely cohesive arrangement. "Bedtime" also features Las Vegas-based singer-songwriter Drowsy, whose hypnotic vocal stylings give the single an extra dose of charisma.
