On Friday morning, Manhattan-based rapper Kota the Friend announces on his Instagram that he will be kicking off an album series with Lyrics to GO, Vol. 1. The project is set to come out January 20th.
Kota, 27, has been making hip hop music for about five years now. He's been offered three different major label deals and remains an independent artist. By way of his music videos buzz, he has built a reputation for his simplicity in style and lyrical fundamentals. In 2019, the lo-fi style rapper and producer released his debut studio album in May, FOTO.
The album is based off of his YouTube series of the same name that at this point has 26 episodes. Lyrics to GO, Vol. 1 contains, "Berlin", a single he dropped as an installment of his Youtube. You can get a bop to "Berlin" as we await the full project.
