Active shows a softer side on new single "Stand"

One of the newest and youngest talents coming up in the Irish hip-hop scene right now, 18-year-old Monaghan native, Active, has returned with a somber, supplemental new track "Stand". Serving as the third single on his upcoming Kid Meets World mixtape which is due to drop in 2020.

Born Maksymilian Skiba in Nakło nad Notecią, Poland, Active emigrated to Ireland, alongside his parents at the age of one. Growing up in a border town where the hip-hop scene was inappreciable, Active found his love and creative outlet in the genre. Inspired first by Logic, J.Cole, NF, Kendrick Lamar & Token. Active's relatable lyrics, impressive flow, impeccable production and extensive versatility make him one of the most exciting acts to emerge out of the Emerald Isle in recent years.

"Stand" is a blend of machine-gun flows and autotune singing synonymous with the young MC. With emotion pouring through on every word, Active is at his best here. He does an amazing job of describing how relationships, whether platonic or otherwise, can often seem like a lot of work.  However, sometimes the growth from the experience can make the struggle worth it.

Active is a stylistically diverse and expressive Irish hip-hop act having first hit the scene in the late 2010s through a series of experimental releases and the debut Youth EP in 2019. Since then, he has continued evolving as an artist by adding production and beat making to his arsenal. "Stand" is a culmination of these newfound skills, alongside co-producer Conor Eiffe.

Following singles like "Cry For Me" & "No Object", Active is clearly in a creative zone right now. It is amazing to see such a young talent proving himself with every release. The sky is indeed the limit for Active in 2020, so keep an eye out for this one.
