T. Soomian breaks down his eclectic LP "Love Relief"

Not too long ago Los Angeles native T. Soomian debuted a lush eight-track debut LP entitled Love Relief. Supported by eclectic influences of life in a global metropolis the entire project ventured through electronic psychedelia and modern R&B with a thread of catchy lo-fi pop hooks and a range of instrumental orchestration. T. Soomian let us in on his creative process by providing an exclusive track-by-track breakdown of the entire LP.

In his own words the project was an “ode to the nightlife." "Love Relief to me, sonically represents Los Angeles, California. As a native and as someone who's been exploring the nightlife for the last decade, I felt the need to tell the stories my friends and myself went through or witnessed. These are just a few…" We have the full breakdown and LP streaming below exclusively.

Caught a Feeling – Arts District: This the tale of two lovers who are destined to be together but timing never works out for them. They are spoken for at different moments until finally one starry night in Los Angeles brings them together at a mutual friend’s birthday party. They secretly hold hands as conversations swirl around them and the rest is history…"hey I caught a feeling wanna talk to you, take you for a little ride…"

One Thing  – The Valley: A helpless outcry of love lost against the big open backdrop of an endless car ride alone. Sometimes there are people in your life that are meant to come and go. Hesitations turn into withdrawal on both ends and the love you once knew fades into a stranger you don’t recognize…"every time you go, I can't help but think am I not the one?"

Blvd – Hollywood: A story of a man who falls in love with an exotic dancer at the famed Cheetah’s in Hollywood. Ashamed and spoken for, he cannot reveal his deepest desires and struggles with his infatuation for this woman and the hold she has on him… but there’s an enjoyment in the grappling…"now you're up, tell me girl what's up"

Tell Me – Silverlake: I wrote this song a while back while working at a cafe in Silverlake, CA. Even though looking back, this one of the happiest chapters of my life thus far, I felt unstable and aimless. I often retreat to an underlying urge to escape because I yearn for simplicity above all. I’m tempted to run away, and leave the big city I love behind…"I think it's time for you and I to maybe run off to a another land / Cus times are crazy baby all I really wanna do is lay around…"

Not to Bother – Koreatown: This is about a girl I once fell for who my friends told me to avoid because they were looking out for me. I was stubborn but they were right… as usual…"baby they tell me not to bother, I don't listen, I'm not gonna listen…"

Happy Ghost – Downtown LA: My friend and I were walking down a major street in a psychedelic haze. After multiple bar stops, we both thought we saw our pal waving at us as he passed by in a car, even though he was walking next to us the entire time. We still talk about that and crack up and I thought it would make a funny song to capture that feeling…"he waves goodbye as he sees you, he waves goodbye as he floats!"

Breathe Into You – Angeles National Forest: This song is an accumulation of similar moods I've felt through the years that can only be described as being ’over it.’ After you’ve drank all the tequila you can stomach, when you lose all motivation for those detached hookups and surface relationships in your life fall by the wayside and you find The One. All you want to do is be with the one you love…"all the places we go, I’d rather we be solo"

1979 – Glendale, CA: This is a love story inspired by my parents and their journey to the City of Angels after the Iranian Revolution. I couldn't imagine the challenges they faced to provide us with the lives we have now…"time has come to get us out of here alive, I can't wait to be alone with you".

T. Soomian just wrapped his own residency at the Bootleg Theater in his hometown of Los Angeles, and he's set to make his name into the quintessential West Coast scene for his unique flavor and vibe. We hope you enjoy!
