Tyla Yaweh is still defying genres and refusing to be put in a box. The Orlando artist just released two new tracks in "I Think I Love Her" with YG and "Understand Me." The former is produced by Hitmaka and is lighthearted, choppy, and upbeat in all the best ways. Tyla doesn't show off his vocals, but instead opts for a quickly-swaying singing style that, paired with a verse from YG that oozes a West Coast coolness, makes for an exciting new banger.
"Understand Me" is filled with gentle synths and jittery hi-hats from BeatGod XL that allow Tyla to make himself more vulnerable and honestly detail what he feels about a girl, but it's not a love song. It's an introspective view into a relationship and its issues; the song gives a unique peek into Tyla's life and does so with a catchy chorus that leaves the listener wishing the track was longer than two minutes. Check out "I Think I Love Her" up above and "Understand Me" down below and stay tuned for an upcoming album from the quickly-rising artist.
