This week we introduce a new artist to enter the hip-hop scene producing and writing his own tracks. Earlier this month, AJRadico, debuted his first single of the year titled “Armor”. The gritty sound production complimenting a funky lyrical flow that's bringing a one-of-a-kind sound to the rap game.
The Brooklyn-raised rapper had only two songs before “Armor” titled “Candy” and “Vertigo” – both self-released in 2018. However, on “Armor” he takes a different approach to music, experimenting with a variety of beats, rhythms, and rap flows. AJRadico is very aware of his “leveling up” process with his newfound sounds. On the track, he even informs listeners of the consequences for those bold enough to copy his style or stand in the way of his music success.
Recognizable Lyrics:
Pull up to yo site with the weapon
Roll up to your job with the armor
Might just plant a bomb in your office
Shawty picking peaches out the garden
I heard you be cheating on yo partner
Talk is always cheap up in them comments
But say that on the streets and you a goner
Boy I need the bread, I need that matzah
Towel in my collar like a mobster
"Originally, I made the beat for it at a cafe in LES last December.” AJRadico shares. “It was an attempt at seeing what we’d come up with in the last 15 minutes before closing. I’m a big fan of comedy in rap so I wanted to combine elements of satire with alternative melodies.” By creating such an intricate and catchy musical masterpiece in a short time span, it’s looking up from here for AJRadico.
“Armor” is now available on all platforms. Listen here.
