What better way to celebrate your own birthday, as a music producer, than by dropping a new tune? UK-based electronic producer Laxcity, who to friends is Joshua Mbewe, celebrated his 23rd birthday by pleasantly surprising fans with a new song titled "Delete." Out now for free download via Laxcity's SoundCloud, "Delete" is an elegantly-produced, downtempo instrumental tune.
Laxcity has already proven himself capable of creating beautiful, textured melodies, but it's the percussive elements here that really shine. He produces crisp hi-hats and punchy, saturated kicks, which combine with ODESZA-esque vocal chops to playful effect. Bouncy yet languid, "Delete" is a sip of fresh coffee on sun-drenched porch, not a piercing shot of 5-hour Energy.
