Kills Birds rock out in gritty garage visuals for new single "Worthy Girl" [Video]

An explosive burst of alternative punk, Kills Birds have unveiled the video for their single “Worthy Girl”. The track highlights jangly guitars, thrashing drums and echoing vocals that erupt with intensity. Set in a simple basement scene, the grunge retro aesthetic pairs perfectly with the band’s rowdy vibes.

Kills Birds began as an underground project between vocalist Nina Ljeti and guitarist Jacob Loeb but in 2017 developed into the complete band with adding Fielder Thomas (bass) and Bosh Rothman (drums). Reminiscent of intense Riot Grrrl a la Bikini Kill, the song displays a bold electrifying sound like only Ljeti can deliver.

Known for their jagged guitar-driven melodies and boisterous charm, their music is fueled by an exceptional songcraft. Ljeti has dealt with deep-seated feelings of insecurity, anxiety, and inadequacy, but mainly love. Those emotions are the driving force behind everything she creates.

"The instrumentation helps clarify those feelings. When Jacob and I write, Jacob is able to understand what I'm feeling, and he uses the instrumentation to elevate the piece to a whole new level.” She confides, “He honors the words and challenges me to find the best method of expression. His contribution is brave- he works without ego to benefit the emotion of the song. Same goes with Fielder and Bosh. Completing the puzzle. We are all emotional beings. And we struggle with what everyone struggles with. Our ultimate goal is to stay true to that, no matter what.” Check out Kills Birds at the Los Angeles’s Bootleg Theater on September 19th and watch their fiercely powerful video out now.
