As a nascent raver living sans-parents in San Francisco, Ardalan began his relationship with acclaimed tech-house label DIRTYBIRD at its very first BBQ event in 2007; by 2010 his career had set sail with his Justin Martin collaboration "Mr. Spock", cultivating a career that has allowed the producer to learn, play and experiment. Now, with poise and a touch of sensual grit, Ardalan reveals news of his forthcoming debut album Mr. Good with the release of lead single "I Can't Wait"—an innovative track that will surely help to inspire a new chapter of dance music.
"I Can’t Wait" is a duet with my girlfriend," Ardalan shares with Billboard. "It's one of the last songs I made on my album. Through the process, she was always waiting for me to watch Game of Thrones with her and would say, 'I can’t wait any longer.' I never ended up watching it. The song is open to interpretation for the listener."
Distinct in its delivery, Ardalan showcases a brassier yet more melodic side of house—a subtle ode that takes us deeper into his mindset for music. Modulated yet teeming with a medley of dreamy synths and poignant melodies, "I Can't Wait" hooks us with striking vocal samples that perfectly encapsulate the sense of isolation felt when one's passion and goals outweigh personal and emotional upkeep. Grasping hold of the twisting house and techno fusion, Ardalan displays his matured sound in the lead single, giving us a taste of what's to come.
Ardalan will be taking Mr. Good on a thirty-six stop album tour, showcasing the new record with extended sets in some of North America's most intimate club environments. The tour will kick off in Santa Barbara in September, with support from Justin Martin, Soul Clap, Melé, Claude VonStroke and more.
