Producer and rap duo Imperial and K.I.N.E.T.I.K team up with rapper and activist BREIS on their new reflective track titled "Those Were The Days". The trio takes us back to the 90s where things were different, where social media didn't rule and control us. Over the dreamy, nostalgic production K.I.N.E.T.I.K. and BREIS both share personal stories that 90s babies can relate to. K.I.N.E.T.I.K. sets it off with a sepia-toned verse where he fives a vivid run down of his childhood. Name dropping everything from street fighter II to Happy Days series to Blockbuster Video late fees. for the second verse, BREIS tells a witty wordplay laden story of how a technical mishap with a camera caused chaos after his wide-eyed first encounter with a pre-Miseducation Lauryn Hill.
Even though these collaborators are showing their age, their youthful enthusiasm and anachronistic experience shine through. This is the missing link between analog adolescence and a digital adulthood.
