Young the Giant perform "You + I" in the Tennessee mountains [Video]

Throughout their career, California indie rock band, Young the Giant, have been releasing stripped-down renditions of some of their favorite songs in a unique video series called "In the Open." Yesterday, the band released a video for the song "You + I" off their latest project, Mirror Master.

The record was released last October and marks the second "In the Open" version Young the Giant has put together this spring. The artists have been finding time between shows to create this content for their fans, with "In the Open" quickly becoming a structure of the band's creative makeup.

This acoustic rendition has a slower tempo and consists of no keys or drums, unlike the original. However, the band incorporates the new addition of a sole tambourine played by drummer François Comtois for the bare bones effect. The video was filmed by David Faddis and shot at Blackberry Mountain in Walland, TN.

You+I was the first of several In the Opens shot in the mountains of Tennessee. We chased the light, and landed on this take, somewhere between night and day. Perfect for a song about the spaces in between. Enjoy. Watch at the link in our story ! ?: @david.faddis

The band continues to tour as their next leg picks back up on June 12 at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. You can purchase Mirror Master in stores and stream on all digital streaming platforms.
