A charming and coy throwback, The Silver Lake Chorus have just released a new single written by Van Dyke Parks.  Entitled 'Tabu", the stunning vocal layered song is a unique exploration of percussive soundscapes exhibiting musical influences from all over the world. Highlighting an enchanting melody, elevating rhythm and rich charismatic vocals, the song pays homage to Van Dyke Parks deep passion for world music.

The Silver Lake Chorus in an innovative musical collective who are taking choral groups in a whole new direction by performing songs by remarkable indie talents and giving them a fresh take filled with striking harmonies. Crafting glorious vocal arrangements, they incorporate centuries-old choral traditions while also evoking the essence of inclusion and what the Silver Lake community represents today.

The close-knit secular neighborhood choir formed nine years ago, describe their distinctive arrangement progression as “expanding the potential of the music into twenty plus voices.” The collective is seemingly boundless and free to express their musical gifts with no explicit rules. The Silver Lake Chorus's multitude of intricate layered voices all in perfect synchronization is rare and difficult to replicate. Known for their lush harmonies and spirited instrumentation, they release a powerful yet delicate tone, like nothing you’ve heard before.

From performing live and recording with respectable artists including Moby, Damien Rice, Lonely Island, Big Data, and Until the Ribbon Breaks, The Silver Lake Chorus is all about collaboration.  They further have graced the stages of distinguished Los Angeles venues such as the Troubadour, Largo, Orpheum Theatre, LACMA, and the Getty.  The collective is a gift to the Los Angeles community.  Enjoy their latest single 'Tabu'.
