Jeremie Albino's single "Last Night" is a bluesy love story

Jeremie Albino’s new single “Last Night” has me sipping red wine on a summer’s evening, pretending I’m in some classic storyline from decades ago. Albino uses swinging rhythm laced with blues, rock, and an electrifying voice. It's one of those songs that begs to be played on vinyl, full volume. Born and raised in Toronto, Albino creates a romance narrative in this latest track and video.

That look from across a room. It’s a legendary moment in a love story – and it’s the premise of Albino’s music video. Speaking on his inspiration, Albino says that he has always loved going out to the local dance hall, and that romantic notion of seeing the girl of your dreams walk through the door. He calls himself a “sucker” for classic romance scenes. Evidently, his single goes hand in hand with that liking. Between the bustling music scene of Toronto and spending time in the country landscapes of Prince Edward County, Albino found himself writing songs. With a sound straight out of the 1960s, “Last Night” is impossible not to dance to. The single has that recognizable blues background and a Rock & Roll spirit. I’m counting the days to hear that same combination and energy throughout Albino’s debut record Hard Time, expected in later 2019.

Based in Toronto but my mind is always somewhere else. I like coffee, a good banjo solo, and binge-watching British TV shows.
