Los Angeles is a “City on Fire” in Gaby G’s new video

Gaby G’s latest masterpiece, “City on Fire” is inspired by the celebrity filled, drug-fueled enigma that is Hollywood. She kicks off the song stating, “Hail from MIA / City of Angels where I stay” before walking listeners through the fast life in LA. The single is produced by Zach Fogarty and features rock-influenced instrumentations with traces of electronic sounds in the beat. The official music video is a stunning presentation of a harlequin of colors and LA’s signature landscape. It also features a cameo from G’s girlfriend Abella Danger who portrays an angelic figure corrupting the singer with the “rockstar” lifestyle one would experience in LA. Towards the end of the video, Danger convinces Gaby to leap over to the dark side of Hollywood.

Speaking on the video, Gaby G said: “Who doesn’t love a juicy dark metaphor? We froze our asses off at the top of the hill. We had to catch the perfect 'Magic Hour' lighting so we had to shoot in the exact hour the sunset occurs when the lighting is best to get the right colors. I came prepared with 3 joints to light for the smoking shots and forgot a damn lighter! That’s why I’m hitting a juul. I thought it was still fitting since everyone in LA has one.”

As simple as the concept of the video is, viewers can easily understand the theme of the song through it. The Miami-bred singer has been on a roll since the release of her debut EP (Polarized) in 2016. Since then, she has attracted loyal listeners with tracks like: “Closer”, “Numb”, “Say My Name”, and “Understatement”.
