The Astronots seek out adventure in “El Dorado”

American rock band The Astronots have released the video for their single “El Dorado.” The track features the band’s signature rowdy rock ‘n’ roll with gritty, vibrating soundscapes and raspy vocals.

Like many explorers searched for the lost city of El Dorado, the visuals showcase the band on a treasure hunt of their own. Looking at a map and following clues, they travel through trails in a monster truck until they eventually find the hidden treasure. In the end though, it was all a fantasy of what could have been, and they decide not to embark on the journey after all.

The Astronots are spearheaded by its founding members, Niko Giaimo (vocals/guitar) and Allee Futterer (vocals/bass). The two are established musicians in their own right. Futterer has had years of cutting her musical teeth, backing some of the biggest names in the Los Angeles music scene, while Giaimo was a primary member of the scoring team behind productions such as Dexter and Dishonored II. The two join forces on the Astronots, blending their quintessential Los Angeles upbringing, classic rock, and west coast vibes.

Influenced by artist like Led Zeppelin, Alabama Shakes and Kings of Leon, the trio has crafted an EP radiating with grungy guitars, explosive percussion and raw, intense energy.

The Astronots' deep garage sound has lent itself to placements on film and TV, as well as curated playlists. "Black Milk," from their 2017 EP Strange Terrain, was featured on the CBS hit television show Life in Pieces. "Begging for More" was placed in Andrew Garfield’s 2018 feature film Under The Silver Lake.
