Exploring the topic of romantic love, Bad Honey reflect on the expectations that can get in the way of feelings on "Weak When You're Near".
Encapsulating dreamy synths and sugary sweet melodic vocals, Bad Honey capture ethereal emotion with their sound. Filled with honest and bittersweet feelings, the London-based duo have made a beautifully tender track. Effortlessly telling the story of an inconsistent love affair, "I thought love was all rainbows and butterflied, I thought wrong", the single is blissfully cathartic. Using distinctive soulful melodies and bouncing rhythms, Bad Honey blur pop sequences into this elegant number.
Written the day after running a marathon, whilst in a post emotional state, "Weak When You're Near" captures the pure and honest emotions of precariously falling in love.
Explaining the tune, Bad Honey reveal: "The song is about trust, it's about the mixed feelings you get at the beginning of a relationship. Part of you wants to let go of all fears and be free and embrace things without thinking too much, but the other part of you is still trying to protect yourself from someone you want to trust but don't know if you can trust yet."
As ever, Bad Honey's creativity is astounding, I can't stress enough how charmingly beautiful and eloquent this track is.
Head over to Servent Jazz Quarters, London on the 12th March to catch the girls performing.
