A household name in the tech-house world, Shiba San is a visionary. Following on from his first Beatport number 1 with "All I Need" earlier this year alongside Tim Baresko, Shiba San has now joined Sola Records for his debut EP release Downtown.
Stripping back to the basics, the French producer shows that less is definitely more on the EP's title track. Eerie cosmic pulses run rampant, crafting an otherworldly mystical experience throughout the song. His hallmark sounds of deep bass lines and erratic clicks make for a bouncing, club-ready rhythm. On the other hand, "Crush That" ups the ante with a faster pace, fusing robotic synth structures and gritty bass lines for a piercing soundscape. The vocal hook is the highlight of the track – an absolutely hypnotizing lure.
