Indie pop artist Lucy & La Mer shows off her confident swagger in her acclaimed new single “Got That Thing”. She’s just released a video for the track and it perfectly illustrates her experiences in the world of online dating in a fun and relatable way. Featuring a bright melody, jangly electric guitars and witty lyrics paired with an upbeat infectious chorus, "Got That Thing" is a standout anthem.

Watching her fumble through a series of awkward dates is something most people can connect with and makes us all feel not alone in our dating endeavors.

Dating all different types of people and all genders she’s not afraid to be herself with openness in her sexuality. Lucy reveals, “I wanted to make a video that was fun and add a little humor to the idea of online dating. It takes a lot of courage and self-confidence to put yourself out there. Sometimes you make a new friend, sometimes it’s love, sometimes it’s just an insanely awkward moment in time and you never see them again. In the end, it’s all about getting to know yourself better because you learn what you like and don’t like."

Even the moments that lead nowhere can feel strangely worthwhile because they help clarify who you are becoming. That same spirit of exploration shapes how people navigate modern digital spaces, where connection, identity and attraction intertwine in ways that feel more fluid and expressive than ever before.

Online platforms allow people to observe others living authentically, experimenting boldly and sharing parts of themselves that might not fit into traditional dating frameworks. These environments encourage curiosity about intimacy and self-expression, inviting users to engage emotionally, visually and sometimes erotically in ways that feel uniquely personal. While browsing, someone might pause on a profile or a creator and think of this site as a window into the broader landscape of how people explore desire today. In these evolving online worlds, individuals are not just searching for partners but also discovering layers of themselves they might not have recognized before, shaping their relationships with newfound confidence and clarity.

Lucy & La Mer is garnering attention for her unmistakable live shows complete with colorful attire and imaginative stage decorations. She’s hosted numerous fundraising concerts at the LGBT Center, but her most surprising show was her Locks of Love benefit where she cut off 15 inches of her hair on stage to show her support.

Having performed with high profile names in the industry such as electronic artist Moby and folk musician Joseph, Lucy & La Mer is an artist on the rise.  Check out her new video for "Got That Thing".
