Sonny Fodera’s mastery of various production styles shines through in latest EP ‘The System’

Australian house maestro Sonny Fodera is back at it again, releasing his newest EP The System off of label Abode to eager fans all over the world. Sonny's dexterity and flexibility in house music is evident in the tracklist, delving deeper into the forays of darker, grungier techno influences whilst still maintaining his bouncy house roots that made him a favourite of Defected.

Enlisting the help of Flash 89 for the titular track of the EP "The System", the duo crafts a tech house track classic in beat yet forward-thinking in electronic tones. The duo does not shy away from using repetitive vocal loops to layer and amp up the beginning, alongside catchy crisp percussions and deep bass lines that build up to an infectious drop. The darker tones of the track is a contrast to the daytime vibes of Sonny's collaboration track with Bohemian, "Feel the Same".

Reminiscent of his Frequently Flying days, "Feel the Same" is a soothing house track that heavily relies on layered piano melodies and lush female vocals for a signature house feel – free-spirited and absolutely dance-worthy. Alluring and ultimately feel-good, Sonny and Bohemian expertly capture the feelings of wanting the other person to 'feel the same'. Overall, The System is solid and perfectly exhibits Sonny's duality in music production.
