Two Brooklyn-based artists by the names of Birch (a moniker for Michelle Birsky) and Glassio (real name Sam R.) have teamed up for a remix of "femme.two," the lead single off Birch's upcoming debut record femme.one. Glassio is also gearing up for a release of his own, with his EP Age of Experience coming out on October 10 via Tilted Sounds.
Birch's original track features her signature synth-driven indie pop style, but Glassio's take brings a different kind of danceable energy to the track. While Birsky's ethereal vocals still take center-stage, Glassio's beat speeds everything up, creating, in Birsky's own words, "a chill, dancey track that holds the significance of the song while encouraging us to dance off our fear." Written in the wake of the Women's March, "femme.two" explores the gap between progress made and actions yet to be taken.
