The Night Game asks "Do You Think About Us"? in new break-up anthem

The Night Game is at it again, pulling together the ultimate post-breakup track, pairing with the voice of Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek on "Do You Think About Us". The band from Boston with the voice behind the music, Massachusetts native Martin Johnson, has a familiarity with catchy rhythms and soaring choruses. Johnson has produced smashing tracks for the likes of mega artists like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and more.

When it comes to their own music, The Night Game doesn’t hold back – exemplified by this latest single. Singing back and forth, both Johnson and Polachek send unanswered questions out into the night air, using the age-old hypothetical: do you think about us when you’re with someone else? The track paints the picture of the not-quite-over relationship, pining over the other’s thoughts from different locations. Truly, Johnson says it best:

“My junior year of high school I visited a musical theater college in Cincinnati, the same one my girlfriend at the time ended up going to. She went on to meet the love of her life there and they're married now with two beautiful kids. I suppose everyone thinks about the sliding doors. What if we made the train we were supposed to miss? What if I got on that plane and went to school instead of climbing into that dirty 15 passenger van? I’d probably have a few less tattoos. Maybe a little less back pain from touring with an 18 pound Les Paul all those years. Maybe we’d still be together. Probably not. Either way, from time to time, usually when its late or driving home after a failed first date i do wonder… “do you think about us?”

The new single paves the way for the band’s upcoming self-titled album dropping September 7th. On the wings of their new LP, The Night Game will be setting off to Germany for Lollapalooza and closing the European leg in London, UK. In the fall, the band will be bringing their live shows across North America.  Check out their tour dates below:

Based in Toronto but my mind is always somewhere else. I like coffee, a good banjo solo, and binge-watching British TV shows.
