Canadian singer/songwriter Daniela Andrade takes us on an aural journey to the "Genesis" on her new single and video.
The self-produced track has a rich, engulfing soundscape laced with a dash of nostalgia. The non-conforming act delivers her verses in varying vocal pitches. Ranging from high to low, but definitely not close to the norm. On “Genesis”, she traces intentional steps towards the future, ones that begin, crucially, with allowing oneself to exist. Conceptually she embodies the complexity of that seemingly basic task, both the inner turmoil and ultimate resolution that one feels when clearing their plate and building a blank slate.
The visuals were shot on 16mm film by Jeremy Conte against the backdrop of Latin America and showcasing its people in their natural habitat, the video is also a direct link to Daniela’s Hispanic roots and influences. She is currently working on an upcoming EP. Get the song on Spotify
